From August 15-17th 2025, the "Peace & Love" photo exhibition, celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, was successfully held at the Chinese Australian History Museum. Organized by the Federation of Chinese Associations Victoria (abbreviated here after as FCA), the exhibition attracted widespread attention from politicians, overseas Chinese Associations, and the local Chinese community.

This photo exhibition features a large number of precious historical photos and detailed documents, vividly showcasing the Chinese people's heroic resistance to Japanese aggression and the invaluable support and deep friendship extended by the Australian people during World War II. This is not only a look back at history, but also a legacy of the belief in peace and justice.

The exhibition's Opening Ceremony took place at 1:00 PM on August 15th. Yingmiao Wang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Victorian Chinese Association, presided over the ceremony, and Yunguo Chen, Chairman of FCA, delivered the opening remarks. He stated, "Eighty years ago, the sons and daughters of China built an impenetrable fortress with their flesh and blood. After fourteen years of bloody battles, they stood shoulder to shoulder with people from all over the world and ultimately won the great victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. This is not only a glory for the Chinese nation, but also an eternal testimony of justice triumphing over evil and light dispelling darkness. We remember history not to perpetuate hatred, but to cherish peace and pass on the spirit of resistance, the spirit of unity, and the ideals of peace from generation to generation."
Many distinguished guests attended the event and delivered speeches, including Consul General Xinwen Fang, Deputy Consul General Dongyuan Liu, and Consul Chongsheng Song of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne, former President of the Victorian Legislative Council, the Honourable Bruce Atkinson, former member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, Mr. Frank McGuire, Whitehorse City Councillor Kirsten Langford, Wannian City Councillor Anna Chen, Melbourne Hongmen Democratic Party Chairman Mr. Songda Wu, representative of Victorian Legislative Assembly Member Mr. Aiv Puglielli, and Mr. Xingxiang Wang, Director of the Australian Chinese History Museum. They unitedly expressed the importance of remembering history, cherish memory of the martyrs, inherit the spirit, and jointly safeguard the hard-won peace.
Afterwards, representatives of the organizers and guests jointly unveiled the gallery and toured the exhibition with the audience, revisiting historical memories and sharing spiritual insights. The three-day exhibition also attracted many visitors of different nationalities, allowing more people to understand that heavy history and relive those inspiring years.
As a key component of the 80th Anniversary Commemorative Series, FCA will host another event, the "Peace, Love & Wellbeing" Cross-generational Sports Day at Doncaster Secondary College from 6:00 to10:00 PM on Thursday, August 21st. A variety of sports, including basketball, relay races, and tug-of-war, will bring together community members of all ages to showcase the spirit of unity and hard work. Gallery from this photo exhibition will also be on display at the Games, furthering the theme of historical memory and the inheritance of peace. FCA sincerely invites community members to attend the games, the exhibitions, and engage in conversation, allowing the memory of history to continue through sports and unity.
