National Foundation of Australia-China Relations & FCA —— Deepens Cooperation to jointly promote Australia-China friendship

On November 7, 2024, the Project Manager of the Australia-China Foundation, Meena Johnson, along with Ms. Latitia Chow, visited the Federation of Chinese Association Victoria (abbreviated as FCA). They engaged in in-depth discussions with the association's Vice President Chunjiang Wu, Treasurer Anthony Lin, and Victoria's Community Health Ambassador, Diana Lin. Due to other official duties, Association President Derrick Chen entrusted Vice President Wu to lead the meeting on his behalf.

First, Vice President Chunjiang Wu conveyed President Derrick Chen’s warm welcome to the guests and provided a detailed overview of the history, mission, and broad impact of the FCA. As the largest and most influential Chinese community organization in Victoria, the association has consistently upheld the core interests of the Chinese community. It is also recognized as the most representative and authoritative Chinese association in the region. With over 180 affiliated Chinese groups, the association provides comprehensive community services, including cultural promotion, health care, and welfare support, while playing a significant role in fostering cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Australia.

This meeting provided the National Foundation of Australia-China Relations with a more comprehensive understanding of the FCA's operational model and organizational structure. Against the backdrop of warming Australia-China relations, the foundation aims to promote further cultural interaction and cooperation between the two countries through various collaborative projects, such as Australia-China dialogues and economic forums. Both parties expressed their willingness to jointly create more exchange platforms and explore new paths for cooperation to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the people of both nations. The foundation is also interested in the association’s reach and influence in promoting various projects, hoping to uncover more opportunities for collaboration.

This discussion laid a solid foundation for collaboration between the two parties in areas such as community health, sustainable development, and the deepening of two country’s relations. Both sides look forward to strengthening cooperation in these fields to jointly promote cultural exchange, collaboration, and the development of friendly relations between Australia and China.
